Brenda E. McFadden, CPA
Owner
With more than 30 years of professional accounting experience, Brenda is a strongly-rooted resident of Lawrence, KS. She joined the firm in 1993, became co-owner in 1995, and then established the firm as The McFadden Group in 1998. Brenda specializes in small business start-up and succession consulting, estate succession, litigation support, and business/individual tax planning and preparation. She has 2 degrees from the University of Kansas – both a B.S in Accounting and a B.S. in Business Administration. Brenda has served in several professional and local public service groups including: the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants, The Shelter Inc., Junior Achievement of Douglas County, American Red Cross of Douglas County and the Lawrence Public Incentive Review Committee.
Betsy M. Kohl, CPA
Senior Manager
Betsy has more than 30 years experience in public and private accounting. Her areas of expertise include: compilation of financial statements for businesses, business taxation, individual taxation, payroll and small business start-up consulting. Outside of the office, Betsy is a highly skilled quilter and bowler.

Staff Accountant
Emily has over 15 years of experience with The McFadden Group. Emily compiles financial statements and performs general ledger accounting functions, payroll and sales tax calculations and accounts receivable/payable services for businesses.
